林金星，1961年3月出生，福建龙岩人，博士。
现任北京林业大学生物科学与技术学院院长。

学习、工作经历
1978-1982年在福建农林大学学习
1982-1986年留校担任助教
1986-1988年在澳大利亚国立大学进修
1989-1992年在北京大学生物系攻读博士（导师：李正理教授）
1992-1994年进入中国科学院植物研究所博士后流动站 工作 （合作导师：王伏雄院士）
1995年晋升为研究员，1996年获得博士生导师资格
1996-1998年在德国 Max-Planck 育种研究所合作研究
2000年在英国剑桥大学植物系合作研究
2007年晋升为“二级研究员”，历任研究室主任、研究中心主任和所长助理
2011年12月起任北京林业大学生物学院院长

在林学和植物细胞生物学领域的国际著名刊物发表论文60多篇，培养研究生40多名，博士后10多名。多位学生成为国家杰出青年基金、德国洪堡基金、国家优秀青年基金的获得者和教育部跨世纪人才。
奖励及荣誉、称号
2002年获得“国家杰出青年基金”， 2003年入选中国科学院“百人计划”，1996年获得第五届“中国青年科技奖”， 2012年获得“钱临照奖”。
